Australia Seriously ( 2007 - ongoing )

During the 80's I spent every school holiday I can remember in a caravan park with my family. We'd road trip from an insular Northern Beaches suburb of Sydney and relocate ourselves to an interesting town up the coast called Budgewoi, for weeks at a time. Things were different and felt a little funny there. A far cry from the comfort of The Beaches.

I grew to adore the normality of everyday Australia, the locals, the rituals, the buildings, the slang, the beaches, the typography, the colours and the hard summer light. Our family existed in a quintessentially Australian world during these never-ending days, life was slow and the memories were large.

Based on a true story and a blend between things we did do and things I dreamt of, I like to think of Australia Seriously as a nostalgic road trip holiday diary that I never made.
